If Poem Response

#Finished?😬😶 oof

The connections I can make to the title of the poem is a person asking someone else some questions.

The poem is organized in 4 stanzas, each stanza has 8 lines. The rhyming pattern of this poem is AAAABCBC, ABABCDCD,ABABCDCD and ABABCDCD.

The tone of the poem is encouraging, because, even though every line is different than the other, they all mean never give up, even when others say you can't do it. It also means that don't try to make enemies because then they might do something bad to you.

The poetic devices in ''If'" are...

  1. Hyperbole
  • You can keep your head when all about you are losing their heads. Because you can't lose your head and still be alive... I think. Also because I know it means when others are angry, not literaly losing their heads. 😳😵😳😳
  •  Meet with triumph and disaster. Because you can't really meet them at the same time, can you? 😵😳
  • Make dreams your master. How can dreams be your master? 😵😳
  • Watch the things you gave your life to broken and stoop and build 'em up with worn tools. Hmmm... You can't really give your life to someone or somthing and still be alive... Am I right? Proabbly am!😊

                2. Alleteration~Sixty Seconds. It starts with the same letter at the start so pretty sure I am right.😊                   👍✌😄💃

                3. Metaphor~ Make one heap of all your winnings. I don't know how but people wrote this in their blogs so I guess I'm right?😬😵😳😶 ^﹏^ ~_~ (^o^) *-* >﹏<

Why Rudyard Kipling's classic poem 'IF' is revered by Serena Williams | Classic poems, If rudyard kipling, Serena williams quotesThe meaning of the poem is to always belive in                                                                                                yourself and never give up. Also always be kind to                                                                                          people?😮😅

The poet wants us to think about how quickly we make enimies and give up I think...^﹏^

Sympathy Poem Response

The connections I can make to the title of the poem was someone being sympathetic to someone else

The poem is organized in 3 stanzas all of them have 7 lines
The first line rhymes like ABAABCC ABAABAA ABAABCC

The tone of the poem is angry and sad because it says "Till the blood is red on the cruel bars" and "And pain throbs in the old, ols scars". I also think that it might have some sympathy in it because the name is Sympathay.

It has Personifacation in it because it says "cruel bars" . I also found a simile "The river flows like a stream of glass".Also some Alliteration when he said " heaven he" and "Through the." Then now finally, Hyperbole such as "I know what the caged bird feels." I am not sure weather Paul meant- when he said,
"I know what the caged bird feels."- about the brusies or not.

I think the poet wants us to think about how we keep birds as pets, and put them inside tiny cages, when they are meant to fly across the sky.The meaning of the poem is the poet telling us how hard it is for a bid to live inside the cage.
